Pure Energy Bodywork and Instruction is committed to helping clients and therapists improve health and wellness through holistic bodywork, embracing all aspects of oneself: body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Individual bodywork sessions are available, as well as instructional seminars. Bodywork sessions are about honoring the inherent wisdom of the person on the table and staying focused and in the moment, in an effort to co-create an exquisite and profound experience of self healing for the client. Instructional seminars involve mentoring new and seasoned therapists, as we come together to enhance our skills and effectiveness, allowing healing interchanges between ourselves as therapists, and between ourselves and our clients.
Peggy Scott has been involved in the healing arts since the 70's, as a teenager doing yoga; in turn learning about natural foods, then massage and other forms of natural therapies, continuing her study and practice with a focus on energy bodywork and leading instructional seminars. She has been practicing and instructing for 25 years.
She earned her Natural Therapeutic Specialist certificate in 1983, in Albuquerque, at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics, which prepared her to work as a licensed massage therapist. Returning to New Orleans, she worked in a holistic center, chiropractic office, and health club, performing thousands of sessions of swedish/deep tissue, mixing in reflexology. During this time she began doing administrative work and teaching at the then fledgling Blue Cliff School of Therapeutic Massage, as well as co-ordinating classes for travelling instructors as she learned cranio-sacral therapy, windows of the sky, polarity therapy, and began studying ortho-bionomy. Peggy continues her work in private practice and leads seminars herself, in New Orleans,LA.; in Negril, Jamaica, and occasionally in other cities. Peggy is a Registered Instructor and Advance Practitioner with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy, International, also practicing Reflexology and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. She teaches these therapies, and ethics, as continuing ed for massage therapists, as well as teaching Swedish and Business, Ethics, & Law at Delgado Community College. Peggy has taught in a professional venue for almost 20 years, at several schools in the New Orleans area and across the southeast. She holds Instructional Seminars in the New Orleans area, as well as travelling to other U.S. cities and she hosts a week long retreat style seminar in Jamaica! She works with clients, performing bodywork sessions when travelling, and at her office in the New Orleans metro area. Like many bodyworkers, her work style has developed into a gumbo of sorts, a blend of the many styles she has studied and taught.
